Since 2009, he has been the Creative Director of his eponymous brand that he founded after a two-year stint at Fendi. He has also spent a good three years at Versus Versace, first as an independent consultant designer and then, since 2015, as its Creative Director. Immensely talented, Belgian national Anthony Vaccarello, 36, has for the longest time been touted as one of the most creative minds of the present times. He has now taken over the reigns as the Creative Director for the French maison of Yves Saint Laurent.
A graduate of Belgium’s leading institution in arts and design La Cambre in Brussels, Anthony has been an award-winner of the renowned Hyères International Festival of Fashion and Photography in 2006, and has also won the prestigious ANDAM Fashion Award in 2011. Renowned for his mastery over razor-sharp tailoring techniques, his aesthetics and influences fall perfectly in line with that of the maison’s. Fashion forward, Anthony is gifted with the art to perfectly blend elements of provocative femininity and sharp masculinity in his silhouettes, as quoted by Francesca Bellettini, President and CEO of Yves Saint Laurent. Francesca added, “He is the natural choice to express the essence of Yves Saint Laurent. I am enthusiastic about embarking on a new era with Anthony Vaccarello, and together bringing the maison further success.”
Anthony will be seen presenting his vision, aesthetics and ideologies with his first collection for the brand in October 2016, during Paris Spring Summer 2017 fashion week.
