It was in the month of June when we took you through the ultimate journey of a bespoke suit with luxury menswear brand SS HOMME. Known for their tailor-fit jackets, the Mumbai-based menswear brand now features a swanky new line of shirts designed in collaboration with custom shirt makers, Bombay Shirt Company. “The idea was to create an exclusive ceremonial line that caters to the au courant gent, highlighting the core aesthetics of the two brands. The core ideology was to collaborate with a custom brand that shared similar sensibilities and aesthetics that complemented each other well,” says Sandeep Gonalves, Co-Founder of SS HOMME.
A brainchild of Sandeep Gonsalves and Akshay Narvekar, Founder of Bombay Shirt Company, the ceremonial collection by the two urban brands will feature 12 sharply designed shirts. “It is a blend of modern detailing and classic silhouettes. Each shirt from the collection caters to a specific ceremonial event and has been meticulously designed, to suit our client's minimalistic sensibilities," says Sandeep.
With both, formal and casual styles available in the collection, the shirt line has looks for office, day and occasion-wear crafted from high quality Egyptian cotton. Available in three different sizes, the shirts come in an assortment of luxurious, rich colors like burgundy, autumn brown and steel blue, and textures, prints and weaves such as houndstooth and herringbone. The shirts are impeccably detailed with different accents such as leather patches, pin-tucks and a variety of collars and cuffs.
This is not the first time Bombay Shirt Company has collaborated with a brand, their previous collections involve tie-ups with celebrities like Purab Kohli, GQ Editor Che Kurien, Model Acquin Pais and designer Payal Singhal. “The custom market space is always going to be a crowded one. Hence we've collaborated with SS HOMME, a team that reflects and shares our design sensibilities. Hopefully we pool together our ideas to come up with a range of shirts with a unique aesthetic and craftsmanship,” shares Akshay from Bombay Shirt Company.
Priced at INR 4,000 onwards, the shirts will be made available at the Bombay Shirt Company outlets & online store and the SS HOMME flagship store in Bandra from today onwards.
